My interest and study of astrology started in the early 1990s when I produced “The Astrology Show” with host Johanna MacPherson on KOPN 89.5 in Columbia, Missouri. Every week, I listened to Johanna’s forecast for each sun sign as we recorded in studio, and again as I edited and mixed the program for air.

I now see how that early exposure to astrology led me into my personal healing process and also an 18-year career as a bodyworker and craniosacral work practitioner. During those years, I studied astrology sporadically as I underwent training and initiation in Earth Medicine traditions in the U.S, Tuva, Nepal and Peru. My interest turned to finding how we as humans can partner with Nature to participate in life-affirming change. I sought to bring small groups together to learn and explore the potential of our human relationship with Nature.

In 2012, following a health crisis, I let go of the course I was on. I took a job as a school bus driver for elementary kids and they, along with our beloved monitor Miss Lenny, became my teachers. It was on that job that I truly learned how the seeds of my training applied in everyday mainstream life. I often think those were, in many ways, my most profound years of initiation, where spirit in its wisdom and humor provided true “where the rubber meets the road” experience.

In 2020 I realized I was again in a major time of transition and started studying astrology full time. It was as though I could not stop. A year later, in 2021, I needed a place to ground my study and decided to enroll in the Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology. Evolutionary astrology, for me, is the most comprehensive approach to astrology that offers not only perspective on a soul’s path, but myriad clues and potential strategies for meeting the many challenges in life.

I will complete my master certification in evolutionary astrology by early 2025.
